It’s that time of year again, where I like to share a piece of music that reflects my love of spooks and unknown creaks and cracks in the night. Listen to an edit of forthcoming track ‘The Castle’ in the player below.

A bit of twangy guitar improv. Just for fun…
Over the weekend I had Soroosh (Soosh) come to visit me down in Dorset to continue work on our collaborative album for Project: Mooncircle.
The weekend was a great success. Here are a few snaps of the room we were working in.
I stayed up all night playing the piano and as the glow in the sky grew and the outlines beyond my window slowly solidified into trees, bushes and hills the birds began to sing and the piano slowed down. Time itself slowed to an almost imperceivable pace. The piano sang with the birds. This short film was made. Enjoy.
This is my remix of a track from the forthcoming ‘Jane’s Junkyard’ EP from Julien Mier which is to be released by Lowriders Recordings on the 25th of June (2013)
“Imagine a place where tattered bits of unmusical ingredients are cast aside and forgotten. Where the rough and ugly pieces of sound are tossed and left to decompose. It’s the very place where Dutch sound designer Julien Mier spends his days sifting through the rubble to reclaim broken sounds and save them from their demise. Julien utilizes the unique characteristics of each sound, arranging them together, creating exciting new environments overflowing with both beauty and emotion. Welcome to Jane’s Junkyard.”

Just stumbled across this video someone took of me performing live at Meadowlands Festival last year. I haven’t included this track in my live set for a while but may do again…
Enjoy.
I have a friend who works at a local auction house. They get there stock from house clearances and a few weeks ago a baby grand piano was transported down from a clearance in London. I was told it would be coming and that they never sell pianos at auction. I enquired as to what price the piano would go in at and got the response “£150”. It sounded too good to be true so I just said “Well I will be bidding then!” thinking someone would outbid me straight away. On the day of action my bid was placed. 150 pounds. Sold. Incredible.
And after not too much trouble, it is now in my living room and I am overjoyed. You can expect some music shortly!
